Project Summary – When the Hotel was in dire need of roof maintenance after not being touched since the 18th century MC Roofing were employed to carry out a full re-roof to bring the Georgian style hotel on the water’s edge back to its original beauty. This provided a unique challenge for MC Roofing as the hotel is a listed heritage building and of high historical importance so the roof processes used were traditional and the materials used were in line with specifications sent to us by the East Dorset planning team. Nevertheless, the MC Roofing team completed the project to a very high standard and in line with the council’s heritage building specs.
Implementation – As specialists in commercial and heritage roofing, MC Roofing provided a complete refurbishment programme that included a brand new slate roof, lots of lead work including complete lead hips, ridges and flat roofs to create a modern but traditional look unrecognisable from the original building.
Completed to a very high standard, the newly refurbished hotel was recently handed over to the client, who was delighted with the look of their much-need renovation. This was a particularly special project for the MC Roofing team to work on as we are all aware of the ever rapidly changing environment and the importance of conserving the historical values of the Dorset countryside and the Jurassic coast. We are thrilled that we could be a part of the building’s history and help restore it back to its wondrous beauty.
